PAX East 2013

March 27th, 2013

Following in the footsteps of my first convention in NYCC two years ago, I finally decided to take the plunge and attend PAX East this year. Gotta say, it was definitely worth going — even though it’s a transition period between consoles at the moment and there wasn’t much in terms of new games as a result. The large amount of Indie games there really made up for it though.

Pics, more details after the break…

Re: Some Pictures and Future Plans

EDIT (3/26/13): Found some spare time. Currently updating pages of the site that need it (RC/leetNEET posts/links etc.) in preparation for a partial revival of the site.

Hey there guys. I know there haven’t been much activity lately, but with Random Curiosity going down for a bit, some personal things I had to take care of before school started, and the new school year starting tomorrow… I’ve been strapped for time to say the least. I do have a surplus of stuff for posts, but it’s the difficulty in getting all the html formatting done “quickly” that’s preventing me from getting them out faster.

As such, I’m pondering some format changes to the blog itself… or a new site in general in order to facilitate easier upload and displays of things like figures and artbooks, which are photo intensive. But do note that this will be a slow process with classes starting again, so please bear with me.

For now, have some pictures of the Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica – Mooks – 4 – Key Animation Note (Media Pal) book I got recently.

Vocaloid – Hatsune Miku – 1/8 – VN02 (Max Factory)

August 19th, 2012

Looking around the internet, chances are you’ve probably stumbled upon something that you just have to have. I’ve had my share of those… and the Miku VN02 was one of them. I mean, there was just something about it that just oozed awesomeness. The futuristic, sleek design. The bright green that’s amazingly flashy, yet not overly so, nor to the point where it detracts from the rest of the design. It’s just a great figure. Never mind that I’m  generally not interested in anything relating to Vocaloids. The VN02 was something I just had to have. Sadly though, it was long, long sold out by the time I found it. There were still some on Amazon and other sites, but yeah, as expected, were exorbitantly priced as a result. Anyway, long story short… I managed to acquire one the other day via a friend (Many thanks!). And well, it’s time to share the wealth a bit with some pictures and a quick review.

Game Preview – The Last Story Limited Edition (w/ Artbook + Soundtrack)

August 18th, 2012

Finally released yesterday, The Last Story arrives in North America amid quite the hype. Along with Xenoblade and Pandora’s Tower, The Last Story is one of the “big three” JRPG’s of the generation. However, the big problem was that it was never released outside of Japan. Cue years of effort from a passionate fanbase though, and eventually Xenoblade was localized (and released in NA earlier this year). Now,  The Last Story gets its moment in the limelight… leaving ultimately only Pandora’s Tower left, though hopefully not for long.

Either way, here’s some of the promised pictures of the pre-ordered, Limited Edition version of The Last Story. Pre-orders came with a free copy of the soundtrack for those ordering from Amazon, Best-Buy, or Gamestop. All pre-orders and all first runs (launch copies) of the game also included a special box containing a 44-page artbook. What’s significant about this statement? Well, it means if you still want the artbook, you might very well be able to acquire it. Every game store’s first run will include it, but once it’s out of stock, that’s it. So if you’re interested, time’s a wasting.

Anyway, without further ado…
